How Do You Learn Taoist Tai Chi internal arts of health?
Trained Volunteer Instructors - Step by Step - Focus on Fundamentals
Thanks to its adaptability people of all ages, ability or condition can learn and benefit from Taoist Tai Chi tai chi chuan. Typically you will start by joining a beginner class. The instructor leading the class will demonstrate each move and give you guidance on how to perform them. The simple, progressive format of the class helps the participants develop a solid foundation by focusing on the fundamentals. Through a friendly, supportive and non-competitive atmosphere participants are allowed to learn in a pressure free environment. Within 3-4 months of classes you will learn all the 108 moves of the set.
In the Greater Toronto Area we have over 100 trained volunteer instructors who give freely of their time so that we can make these classes available.
What happens after I complete the beginner class?
Continuing Classes - Intensives - Workshops
After completing the beginner course, continuing classes offer an opportunity for more intensive practice and refinement. Learning the Taoist Tai Chi internal arts of health is a life-long process in which the student discovers many layers of development. The continuing classes are a place for practise and further learning. Continuing classes are listed separately in the class schedule for each branch.
There are also regular workshops in the full range of Taoist Tai Chi internal arts of health, such as tai chi chuan, meditation, tai chi sword, tai chi sabre, Lok Hup Ba Fa (another set of movements similar to taijiquan) and Hsing I. These all help the student maintain a life-long practise to maintain and improve health and well being.
